There’s Something for Everyone!
Nursery care is available during worship on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and during special events. Our nursery is staffed by nurturing, well trained individuals who will help your children experience God’s love. Pagers are availalbe for parents who desire them.
The Cradle Roll Program is our way of making our tiniest attendees feel welcomed into the church. Children are presented with gifts that provide an introduction to our faith during various milestones such as birth, baptism, and birthdays through age three.
Jesus’ PLACE (People Learning About Christ Everyday) is our Sunday school class for 3-4 year old preschool children. Children are introduced to Bible stories and learn social skills while participating in story time, crafts, and games. Children attend worship with their parents for the first fifteen minutes of the service and are then escorted to their classroom by a teacher during 9:00 and 10:30 services. Children remain in the classroom until picked up by their parents/guardians after the service.
Disciple Zones are offered at 9:00 and 10:30 for school-age children in grade K-6. Disciple Zones are based on the workshop rotation model for Sunday school. Children experience the Old and New Testaments and United Methodist theology by exploring new workshops each week in drama/puppetry, art, movie theater, cooking, games, storytelling, and computers. K-5 children attend worship with their parents until the children’s message and are then escorted to class by their shepherd. Check the Education bulletin board near Chapel Lounge to see which class your child is attending each Sunday.
7th and 8th Grade Sunday School is offered at 10:30 for students who are not currently attending Confirmation classes. Students focus on worship skills and developing relevance between the Bibles stories of long ago and their lives today. 6th-8th grade students participate as worship leaders in the Sanctuary on the 2nd Sunday of every month.
Confirmation Class is offered at 9:00 and 10:30 for students in 7th-9th grades. Students are expected to complete three 10-week units and several enrichment activities during the course of their study. Confirmation services are held in May each year for 8th and 9th graders who have completed class requirements.
Senior High Sunday School is offered at 10:30 a.m. Student discussions are held in a relaxed and comfortable classroom. High school students are also encouraged to participate in worship services and assist with Jesus’ PLACE and Disciple Zones.
Adult Classes are offered at various times throughout the year, especially during Advent and Lent, and are often based on a 4-6 week topical approach. Childcare and children’s activities are often offered simultaneously to accommodate the needs of families. Watch the Presence, Opportunities, and Pastors’ doors for new class offerings.
