Every committee is considered to be part of the ministry team of Emmanuel Community UMC. Persons are asked to serve on committees by our Nominations Committee which meets each year to fill positions being vacated by those whose terms have been fulfilled. Most positions are filled for a three year term. These service opportunities are a wonderful way to get acquainted with other members and to be involved in the actual decision making process within the church. Speak with any of the pastors if you have an interest in serving.
Committees within the structure are:
Administrative Council – governing board of the congregation. Business of the other committees is approved through this board.
Staff-Parish Relations Committee – human relations
Finance Committee – financial overseers
Board of Trustees – buildings and grounds keepers
AV-Tech Committee – technological upkeep and upgrades
Nominations Committee – seeks persons to serve on committees
Foundation – oversees distribution of funds from bequests
Mission Committee – provides opportunities for and support mission outreach both local and worldwide
Memorials – oversees distribution of funds from memorial gifts to the church
Music Committee – oversees music selection and schedules groups for the various services
Stewardship – conducts the annual stewardship (pledge) campaign
Christian Education – oversees all aspects of education opportunities
Igniting Faith – provides opportunities for making connections within and outside of the congregation through small group activities, fellowship and educational experiences more >
Youth Council – oversees youth programming
Health and Wellness Committee – provides opportunities for care of body, mind and spirit
