Youth Council

Youth Council meets on the first Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. and is open to students of all ages.  This forum offers youth an opportunity to plan events, organize fundraisers, develop leadership skills and put their faith into action.

4th & 5th Grade Fellowship

4th & 5th Grade Fellowship is an opportunity for students in 4th and 5th grade to gather as a group on a monthly basis for a fellowship activity.  They currently meet on the 3rd Sundays of the month following the last worship service.  In addition, they pick a charity or organization that they adopt for their monthly outreach collection.  The students get together to plan and organize their fellowship and outreach projects.  Students are matched with a buddy from the Jr. High group for a few activities so that they can make the transition into the older group more smoothly.

Junior High Fellowship

Junior High Fellowship is open to students in 6th thru 8th grade.  This group has weekly opportunities to meet for a fun activity and to do an outreach activity.  Students in this age group are focused on claiming the name of Christian and so activities are geared toward building relationships, experiencing the Christian community and maturing spiritually.    Jr. High students are encouraged to assist with the fund raising events of the youth group.  They are matched with a Sr. High student who begins mentoring them into putting their faith into action.

Senior High Fellowship

Senior High Fellowship is for students in 9th thru 12th grade.  Students have weekly opportunities to meet for activities and fellowship opportunities.  Sr. High events are organized so that students begin putting their faith into action in the church and community.  Sr. High students are invited to sit on church committees as lay leaders, coordinate fund raising and take ownership of the youth fellowship opportunities in the church.

Bible Study

Bible Study is a time for students to take current events and evaluate them against the teachings of the Bible.  Studies are to help the youth see that the Bible is a tool of faith that should be used regularly in their everyday lives.

Service Saturday

Service Saturday is an opportunity for students of all ages to work in the community at large to see how God’s grace and love can transform the community and themselves while being in service to others.

Summer Work Missions

Summer Work Missions are a much anticipated experience among the youth of Emmanuel Community UMC.  Trips have taken the youth to many different parts of Wisconsin and the United States.  The congregation supports summer work missions with prayer, participating in fund raisers and being chaperones.

Fundraisers

Fundraisers are held on a monthly basis to support youth work mission opportunities and fellowship programming.  The youth are charged with planning, executing and evaluating the fundraisers.  One of the biggest sources of funding comes from the Mission Auction.  Youth and congregation members are encouraged to donate items or services to be bid on during the evening of fun and fellowship.

Leadership Development

Leadership Development comes with the confidence youth develop while participating in the fellowship opportunities and outreach activities at Emmanuel Community UMC.  Our hope is that youth will become equipped with life skills and knowledge of being a valued member of this faith family.

How Can I Get Involved?

Anyone interested in helping with youth fellowship activities is encouraged to see the Director of Youth Ministries.  The process is simple – schedule a quick interview, complete a program application, read the youth safety policy and join in the fun!  Every person who offers to give their time to youth helps them grow as a person of faith.
