“I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (NRSV)

Why We Worship

 
We worship because:
  
  • God has given us so many blessings. We need and want to give God thanks and praise for those many blessings. 

 

  • The Holy Spirit moves more easily through a gathering of believers than it does in one person.

 

  • The community of faith surrounds us with love and acceptance and at the same time challenges us to grow in our faith.

 

  • Our children need a village of believers to help them grow in their faith.

 

  • We all need friends and role models. The worshipping church provides the best friends and role models we can find.
