Music Ministries
“O come, let us sing to the Lord:
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!”
(Psalm 95:1, NRSV)
Music is an offering to the Glory of God, and through music we seek to create beauty and inspiration in worship. Music is also an effective tool in the teaching of the Christian faith and the scriptures. The purpose of the Music Ministry is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through music and song, encourage believers in their walk with Christ, lead the congregation in worship and provide an avenue through which individuals may share their gifts and be an integral part of the worship experience.
All our voluntary musical groups welcome new members, and everyone is encouraged to participate, regardless of experience. There are no auditions for membership, and the only qualification is a true desire to be of service to God and the Church. Whether you are a professional musician or just love music, we believe there is a place for you to serve. Please take a moment to review the many programs we offer and prayerfully consider what God would have you do with the musical gift He has given you.
Choirs and Music Groups
Children’s Music
9:30 AM Sunday morning (September though May)
All children participate in our children’s music program during the first 15-20 minutes of Sunday school. Preschool through 1st grade gather in the Ark Park before being taken to their CQ classrooms. Older children (2nd – 5th grade) meet in the Children’s Music Room behind Fellowship Hall to sing, play instruments, and learn the fundamentals of music. Both groups will have the opportunity to sing in worship services about eight times a year.
Children may also choose to sing and act in the Children’s Christmas Program which is held in mid-December every year. Sixth- through twelfth-graders should let the Director of Music Ministries know by October if they are interested in participating.
